Precision Grinding for Agriculture and Off-Highway Equipment
Equipment that works in dirt has a harder job than equipment that works in a plant. Abrasive contamination, shock loading, and long stretches between service intervals all come back to the same requirement: hard, ground, straight surfaces everywhere something slides or seals. A rod that is a half thousandth out of round takes the seal with it, and the machine is down in a field in the middle of a narrow window.
Grinding for Agriculture and Off-Highway Equipment
Parts We Grind for This Market
- Hydraulic cylinder rods and glands
- Transmission, drive, and PTO shafts
- Pivot pins, linkage pins, and bushings
- Diesel fuel injector barrels and plungers
- Boom and idler rollers
- Seed meter and planter components
Why Our Equipment Fits
Long shafting is where a lot of grinding shops run out of room. We hold 60 inches between centers to 0.0002 inch on diameter, and 36 inches on the CNC machines with lengths controlled to 0.0006 inch. Pins and bushings run centerless in volume from 0.125 to 4 inch, at 0.0001 inch with roundness under 0.0001 inch. Injector barrels and similar bores hone to 0.0002 inch and 8 Ra. Large flat faces go on a 30 inch Blanchard rotary.
Materials
Hardened, case-hardened, and induction-hardened steel, chrome-plated rod, cast iron, powder metal, and stainless. Exhaust, aftertreatment, and other heat-exposed components in Inconel and related high-temperature alloys are regular work here rather than an exception we make.
